Mykonos is crazy
Our trip began at 5pm Friday flying 9 hours to Amsterdam. After a hectic Friday morning combined with work and last minute details, we were finally able to “relax.” So if you were 3 guys in your mid twenties, what would you do to begin a 9 hour flight? Shots! We christened the “take off” with a cheers and a shot.
You might be asking yourself? How do you get shots on a Delta flight before the plane takes off? Well you can’t… unless you carry on shots in a quart size ziplock bag through security… which of course we did.
Even though we got the shots on the plane, we quickly were recognized as the hooligans on the flight; the Delta flight crew took notice. They confiscated the airplane shots and reassured us that we’d get them back after the flight… Cindy, Kristen, and Pam (Three of the great Delta flight attendants ever!) told us that we’d drink free on them for the rest of the flight. Maybe that standard for international flights these days, but we were pumped for free booze!
Tied to our carry on luggage were the two pink flamingo beer bongs that we were sent from our sponosor Flabongo… of course I had to put it to good use it.
Feeling like a little kid on Christmas, I couldn’t sit still. I found myself talking to Steve in the back of the plane (again, one of the greatest flight attendants ever). Talking to him was a great reminder that everyone has a unique and one of kind life story. We spoke about life in Utah and some epic and crazy flight stories from early on in his career (80s/90s I believe)… He said he wants to write a book about all his crazy stories (go write it Steve, it’d be a best seller for sure).
The flight consisted of a bit more fun and random adventures; Dan and myself are sworn to secrecy with Delta flight crew.
The flight came to an end with Pam, Cindy, Kristen, and Steven giving us two presents neatly packaged in airplane puke bags; a generous 30 airplane shots with an awesome note.
We continued on our way. Just before we got to Mykonos, we were told by the airport staff, “You’re going to forget your name by the time you get back from Mykonos.”
We landed in Mykonos and were ready to party. We defined a new word that night: “Dozaing” – When Brandon Mendoza takes it too far.
We ended up meeting four gorgeous girls who were staying near us (Bridgett, Mandi, Leigh, and Jackie, all from NY). They pre-gamed with us before we went to the best Club in Mykonos (Apparently top 10 in the world). You know you’re in for a good night when Doza ends up in a speedo flabongoing a beer while standing and balancing on a hammock.
After the pregame, we literally walked out of the house to this the club… and no words can do it justice; it was unreal. This is where the “Dozaing” began.
The details of the night are a little sketchy but I do remember how it ended. It was 6:30am and Doza was walking home as the sun was rising (please note that we had roughly been awake for 24+ hours straight at this point). Lets just say Mykonos is crazy, and we are having a great time!
Day 1 of Mykonos is complete and we now are enjoying Coronas and Mimosas by the pool. Stay tuned for our next update.
